Where Have All the (Useful) Stores Gone?

Is it just me, or is PM Pediatrics and J.W. Tumbles the two WORST stores that could occupy the Applebees block? It was great when KB Mart was there because if you needed milk or a bagel or an extension cord (they sold EVERYTHING there) you could just pop right downstairs.

Now, unless you have kids ages 6-12, those stores might as well be empty.  I mean, what use do we have for those stores?  When the Dress Barn closed, I was hopeful.  When the KB Mart went bye-bye, I once again got my hopes up.  I guess the landlord could not say no - not for the rent that she allegedly demanded from the Kims and assumably got from J.W. Tumbles.

And one last thing: do you think PM Pediatrics is hoping for a bunch of tumbling and falling and skinned knees and crying at J.W. Tumbles?

Communication

Welcome to the inaugural Evelyn Court Blog post!

Let me first say that the current board of directors is doing a fine job. If there is one area that can use improvement, it is the communication of the board with members of the co-op. The Evelyn Court Board of Directors need to collectively do a better job of communicating with shareholders.

I was sick of just receiving a memo every now and then. I have decided to start this blog to hopefully improve two way communications between the Board and shareholders.

Here I will post useful information and photos, news on Evelyn Court, and talk about issues that affect the co-op, and by extension, our lives. We'll also keep it lively: polls, spotlights on shareholders, "Meet the New Neighbor" features, reviews on new restaurants and stores that open in the area, contacting local government officials, and more.

Spread the word about the blog at the annual shareholder meeting on TUESDAY, MARCH 3 at 7:30 p.m.
